The Sacrifice

The Crucifix has been in my family for a lot of generations. It came over here to America, from Ireland with my great grandfather's, Grandfather. He fixed it, gave it some new paint and now it doesn't look so old.The Blessed Mother is on the left, Mary Magdalen is in the center, and St John is on the right. The Palms coming out of the left side represent the victory of the cross. The image of the Holy face, is from the image of Veronica's veil, and I just added the black pine cones. The wine and water( I used red die in water, its not actually wine) along with the marked bread reminds us of the Eucharist.
The bread is a Tortilla with more red food coloring, and the A and O are symbols for Alpha and Omega, one of Gods Titles. and of Course the Crown of thorns, which I wove together by hand and the Lenten candles.
